Four Maso Awards Winners Nominated for AFRIMA Awards, Biggest Continental Awards
Malawi’s music is rising, and the world is taking notice! Four of our very own Maso Awards winners have earned nominations at the prestigious AFRIMA Awards, Africa’s biggest continental music celebration.
Zeze Kingston (Maso Awards 2023 Male Artist of the Year) and Teddy Makadi (Maso Awards 2024 RnB/Pop Act Winner) are both up for Best Male Artist – Southern Africa, competing against some of the region’s biggest names like Tyler ICU, Nasty C, Yomaps, Kabza De Small, and Jah Prayzah.
Temwa (Maso Awards 2023 Female Artist of the Year) has been nominated for Best Female Artist – Southern Africa, alongside continental powerhouses Tyla, Nkosazana Daughter, Makhadzi, and DJ Hannah.
Adding more fire to the lineup, Sean Morgan (Maso Awards 2024 Best Dancehall Act Winner) has also been nominated at AFRIMA in the category of Best Reggae, Ragga & Dancehall Act.
These nominations are proof that Malawi’s creative industry is moving in the right direction and that our efforts to export arts are bearing fruit.
